TALENT IS NOT ENOUGH
TWENTY+ YEARS OF PROVEN STRATEGIES...
Your Business is Complex
One thing David Shepherd discovered while working with interior designers over twenty+ years, is that interior design is one of the most complex businesses on earth to run, yet designers seldom receive a serious business education. Through helping 100s of designers improve their bottom lines...and their lives...David has literally written the book giving back all the best of what he knows.

MEET DAVID
DAVID SHEPHERD - UNIVERSITY FACULTY, AND INTERIOR DESIGN BUSINESS EXPERT
For much of his life, David has taught strategic planning at major universities, including the University of Texas at Austin. At the same time, he often consulted for small businesses in many different fields. He soon recognized that a great strategy was the most essential feature of successful small businesses, but the popular tools were designed for giant companies.
As a result, he spent years developing the ultimate strategic planning framework for small business, the ActionMap. Since 2004, he has used that tool exclusively for interior design firms, large and small.
KNOWLEDGE
You should know that the Business of Design Book is not just a regular business book. In many ways, it takes an irreverent and even skeptical view of what you've been told you have to do to run your business.
Based on over 20 years of experience with 100s of design firms, David Shepherd cuts through the legal and accounting jargon and puts YOU in charge of YOUR business!
CASE STUDIES
Many chapters in the book include case studies of firms just like yours as they learned about and adopted David's consulting strategies.
This is not an academic textbook, but a real-world "story" of how profitable design firms are built. You'll get the help you need to challenge your existing ways of doing business in favor of new, proven ones.
